Global consulting firm CCi transitions to Rimkus brand

Global consulting firm CCi transitions to Rimkus brand

Following a series of successful acquisitions, UK-headquartered consultancy CCi has adopted the branding of its parent group, Rimkus. According to leaders of the professional services group, the move will help the collective of firms to become seen as a “worldwide leader” in the construction consulting and engineering spaces.

Initially branded as Capital Consulting International (CCi), the company is an international engineering and technical consulting company serving clients globally with forensic engineering, AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction), and specialty consulting services. The firm is divided into three core practice areas: quantum; technical; and delay.

The London-headquartered firm was acquired by Rimkus Consulting Group in late 2021. The move meant that as well as having 200 consultants worldwide, CCi gained access to a global network of 1,300 people via its new US-based parent firm.

Speaking at the time, Curtis Brown, chairman and executive director of Rimkus Consulting Group, said, “We have been looking for the right opportunity to introduce the Rimkus name in areas where we have not been represented prior to this acquisition. CCi’s unparalleled reputation in helping its clients resolve construction claims and disputes and geographic footprint greatly expand our capabilities worldwide.”

The following period enabled a sustained era of growth for CCi. In 2022, this saw the firm acquire of Hargreaves Jones in 2022, extending its range of services in forensic and technical consulting to include quantum and delay, and commercial and project management – and also boosting its geographical reach into Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe. Now, CCi is being brought under the branding of Rimkus – though its parent’s leaders are clear that this does not mean its expansion is over yet.

Jonathan Higgins, Rimkus CEO, confirmed, “CCi has grown significantly, and we have plans for this to continue under the Rimkus brand. We are driven by an ambitious growth plan, fuelled by the global demand for our services. In today’s dynamic world, the demand for our services continues to grow, driven by ageing infrastructure, new mega-developments, energy transition, increased construction spend, insurance market expansion, and medical devices growth.”

The rebrand will come into immediate effect on 30 August 2024. Services and client relationships across all Rimkus, CCi, and Hargreaves Jones service lines remain unchanged. But according to Higgins, the move to align their corporate identity underscores “the importance of [the companies’] shared purpose”.  Ultimately, this goal is to “become a worldwide leader in construction consulting and support, engineering, and life sciences” – for which the combined companies will need to leverage “the collective strength of [Rimkus’] people by uniting under one brand”.

Further commenting on this, Mark Barrow, group president for global services at Rimkus, added, “Since Rimkus, CCi, and Hargreaves Jones joined forces, our shared intention is to become a one-stop-solution for our clients by introducing new integrated services and expanding the strength and breadth of our expertise across our global network of offices. To date, all three businesses have embarked on a quest for growth, seizing opportunity and possibility, whether that’s through creating new markets, providing out-of-the-box solutions or providing best-in-class services. By coming together as Rimkus, we are on a quest for growth together.”

Illustrating the planned acceleration of what was formerly known as CCi, Rimkus recently installed a new professional to boost its EMEA business development team. Rob Cowup was appointed director of business development.
