AlixPartners, a New York-based management consulting firm, has promoted Dan Hearsch to global co-leader of its automotive and industrial practice.
Hearsch has been at AlixPartners since 2012, joining the firm’s Detroit office as a VP. He was named a partner in 2018 and has since 2023 served as Americas leader of the automotive and industrial practice.
Hearsch has most than 25 years of experience in automotive and transportation, with deep expertise in cost reduction and supply chain optimization.
Prior to joining AlixPartners, he spent four years with Ricardo Strategic Consulting, where he was a manager. Before entering consulting, Hearsch held various buyer roles in the automotive industry, including at General Motors and at tier-one suppliers Visteon and Brose.
He has an MBA and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.
“I am delighted to announce that Dan Hearsch will join Andrew Bergbaum to co-lead our global Automotive & Industrial industry group,” said Eric Dzwonczyk, global head of industries at AlixPartners. “Dan brings significant client-centered abilities to this role and is the natural partner to Andrew as AlixPartners continues to grow and expand this practice.”
Bergbaum is based in London and has been with AlixPartners since 2011. Before joining the firm, he was a manager at McKinsey and Honda.
“Our consultants here have more real-world experience, they are focused on delivering true bottom-line results, and again and again clients tell us that working with us was a better experience from working with other consultants,” Bergbaum said.
AlixPartners’ automotive practice has 350 global professionals who support clients with growth and sales, M&A, digital integration, economic valuation, supply chain, operational turnaround, and investigations and disputes.
The practice was significantly strengthened by last year’s acquisition of Berylls Strategy Advisors, a Munich-based automotive sector consultancy.
“The entire industrial world today is encountering profound disruptions—technologically, operationally, and strategically,” Hearsch added. “Our broad and deep practice at AlixPartners is uniquely positioned to help our clients to come out among the winners.”
AlixPartners recently promoted Andrew Csicsila and Meaghan Schmidt to co-heads of its Americas region.
