BearingPoint welcomes new compliance team led by Peter Carling to German business

BearingPoint has completed a team hire in the German market, welcoming Peter Carling and a team of compliance experts to its ranks.

The new team crosses from Caweco, a boutique consulting firm from Munich that specialises in the design and delivery of compliance projects at corporations and large medium-sized companies. Caweco was founded by Peter Carling, a former IBM Consulting and PwC consultant who has now been appointed a partner in the Compliance, Finance & Risk practice of BearingPoint.

Commenting on the team move, Carling said: “I’m thrilled that some of the best people I’ve ever worked with and I have started a new chapter at BearingPoint.” How many people are joining Carling has not been disclosed; Caweco has a team of around a dozen members listed on business network LinkedIn.

“BearingPoint is known for its strong management and technology consulting, including in the compliance environment. BearingPoint’s comprehensive service portfolio and global network offer us the ideal platform to achieve sustainable business success for our customers,” Carling noted.

At BearingPoint, the new team will focus on projects including: designing new compliance processes, improving the working of compliance management IT systems, ensuring compliance with ESG requirements and standards including CSRD, optimization of processes in the area of ​​compliance and corporate governance, and embedding (new) regulations such as the EU AI Act within the organization.

The team will focus on clients across sectors, with a focus on the mid-market segment, and notably, also offer a number of industry-specific offerings, such as helping banks with tackling financial crime through enhanced processes and systems for tackling corruption, fraud and money laundering.

With the combination of in-depth domain knowledge coupled with technology knowledge, they can offer our customers tangible added value.”

Germany is BearingPoint’s largest market, accounting for the largest country slice of its €1 billion annual revenue. The company is also led by a German.
