Global strategy and management consulting firm Kearney has acquired IMTEK, an Ottawa-based supply chain consultancy with around 30 consultants.
Founded in 2020, IMTEK is a business consulting and systems integration company focused on supply chain planning and execution. The firms specializes in leveraging platforms like Kinaxis, a platform for supply chain orchestration, and PlanetTogether, a platform for planning and scheduling.
Commenting on the deal, P.S. Subramaniam, partner in the Strategic Operations practice of Kearney, said: “Supply chain planning is more important than ever. Kearney continues to invest in our capabilities to support our clients in creating more efficient and responsive supply chains to meet their evolving needs, while delivering the business outcomes they desire.”
Already one of the leading supply chain consultancies, the addition of IMTEK will bolster Kearney’s supply chain planning capabilities, and deepen its technology suite. “Adding IMTEK’s expertise to Kearney’s capabilities creates a one-stop shop for clients who are seeking support with planning,” noted Subramaniam.
The deal comes at a time when a changing global logistics landscape is demanding companies to rethink their supply chain resiliency and planning. Digital platforms offer them to use analytics to improve real-time decision-making, unlocking significant value.
“The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, technology, and data enables companies to rethink their supply chains from end-to-end,” said Ben T. Smith IV, global chair of Kearney’s Digital and Analytics practice. “With IMTEK on board, Kearney is positioned to support them even more fully through this journey.”
David Hanfland, Kearney’s global vice chair for strategy and corporate development: “Through this acquisition, we are better able to support our clients through all aspects of a planning transformation—from development of the strategy through to the implementation of the technology – ensuring client impact is achieved.”
For Kearney, the acquisition is its first since the three deals it closed in 2023; one in the US, one in Germany, and one in the Middle East.
Two years ago, Chicago-headquartered Kearney launched its Supply Chain Institute, which produces insights and thought leadership on the topic.
