Australian project management consultancy TBH has expanded its footprint in Asia with the launch of a new office in Malaysia, its third in the region alongside Hong Kong and Singapore.
Now in its 60th year of business, TBH is an international project planning and delivery consultancy, established in Australia. The consulting firm supports its clients with services including planning, program and project management, risk management, cost controls, project controls, and claims and dispute resolution.
Commenting on the expansion into Malaysia, Jonathan Jacobs, Managing Director at TBH, said: “The opening of our Malaysia office builds on TBH’s ongoing commitment to Asia. There is a growing demand for independent, specialist project management and advisory expertise to ensure that high-risk developments in sectors such as transport, data centres, energy and semiconductors are delivered on time and to budget.”
“TBH is proud to bring its global experience and proven methodologies to Malaysia, helping shape the success of the nation’s most ambitious projects.”
Malaysia becomes the firm’s third office in Asia, and 5th outside of Australia. TBH also has two offices in the Middle East.
“TBH has a proud legacy of working on complex, high-risk projects globally, and this strategic move into Malaysia marks an important next chapter in consolidating our position across the region,” said Trevor Lam, Partner at TBH.
Office leader: Michael Tan
Leading the Kuala Lumpur office is Michael Tan, who has over 25 years of experience across Malaysia and the wider Asia-Pacific region, with the delivery of complex, large-scale projects spanning data centres, infrastructure, transport, energy, and commercial developments. He brings specialist expertise in construction planning, delay analysis, project controls, and forensic schedule assessments.
As Country Manager, Tan will lead the local operations, build strategic partnerships, and deliver advisory, planning, scheduling, risk and expert delay services.
“Malaysia’s infrastructure, energy and digital sectors are entering an exciting phase of development, and I’m delighted to lead TBH’s efforts in helping deliver projects that will shape the country’s future economy and built environment. Our people are at the centre of making these ambitions a reality, and I look forward to bringing my expertise in project leadership, planning and delay mitigation to support both our clients and our team,” said Tan.
