15 Agricultural Tourism projects signed at the Tongnan Business Promotion Event in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur– On September 10th, Tongnan China’s “World Valley, Pastoral City” Business Promotion Conference for the Green Eco-city was held in MECC, National Convention and Exhibition Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. YB. Datuk Seri Haji, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia attended the event. Li Sa, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, and Datuk Ayauf Bachi, Vice President of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association, made speeches separately. Wen Tianping, Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Tongnan District Committee and head of the Economic and Trade Group, made a presentation.

DR RAJA PUTRA SHAH, a member of the Malaysian royal family, Princess Tengku Faizwa, Chairman of MIESDA, FAIRUL HAFIFI BIN KASIM, Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia and Principal Secretary of the International Department, and Qiu Jieyao, Secretary General of MIESDA, attended the conference. More than 100 enterprises, such as Perak Corporation Berhad, Kossan Rubber Industries Berhad, USAS, etc., and representatives of enterprises from Tongnan District participated in the event as well.

Li Sa said in his speech that China paid high attention to economic and trade cooperation with Malaysia. In recent years, China and Malaysia have enjoyed frequent high-level visits and achieved positive results in practical cooperation. The conference provided an opportunity for further cooperation in ecological construction and development. “We shall help to build bridges for enterprises from both sides and to promote the implementation of more high-quality projects, leading our cooperation to a new level,” said Li.

Datuk Ayauf Bachi said that the Malaysia-China Friendship Association will play as a bridge to deepen cooperation between Malaysia and Tongnan District in various fields, aiming at better economic and social development.

Wen Tianping warmly introduced Tongnan to friends and entrepreneurs in Malaysia. In terms of population, Chongqing is the largest city in the world, located at the junction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Tongnan is the northwest gateway hub of Chongqing with convenient and developed transportation, located in the core area of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, the fourth pole of the Chinese economy.

Tongnan City has a 30km riverside coastline. Rivers, banks, and thirsts form a 50km2 “wide valley”, which builds a “World Valley, Pastoral City”. Also, Tongnan enjoys the reputation of the International Lemon Capital, Western China’s Green Vegetable Capital, China’s Rape Township, and China’s Ecological Crayfish Township.

At present, Tongnan is fully implementing the “Fujiang Pentium” plan to build a “strong manufacturing area”, a demonstration area of China’s modern agriculture, a green eco-city of “World Valley, Pastoral City”, an emerging highland of the digital economy, a rising growth pole in the middle of Chengdu-Chongqing region, and a high-level opening bridgehead in the heart of Chengdu-Chongqing area.

At the signing ceremony of China (Tongnan) -ASEAN trade and investment project, Tongnan District signed 15 key projects with enterprises from Malaysia and Vietnam, involving agricultural product trade, seed industry innovation, cultural tourism, and other fields.

Tongnan Lemon is embracing the world. During the ceremony, Chongqing Xuewang Agriculture and MIXUE MALAYSIA SDN BHD entered into an export agreement for the lemon trade. As the leading enterprise in the Tongnan lemon industry, Xuewang’s tea brand Missa Ice City has nearly 30,000 chain stores. Chilled lemon drinks of Missa Ice City, made from fresh lemons, are loved by consumers. Tongnan lemons were directly supplied to tens of thousands of stores at home and abroad, and 1.25 billion cups of lemonade were sold globally last year.

“Since opening the first overseas store, Missa Ice City has taken Southeast Asian countries as the first choice. At present, the raw fruits of lemon drinks favored by consumers are all from Tongnan,” said the principal of Chongqing Xuewang Agriculture. In the future, the enterprise will further strengthen its cooperation with enterprises from Malaysia and other countries, expanding the scale of internationalization of Tongnan Lemon, by relying on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

Seeds are the chips of agriculture. Tongnan is famous for its seeds. As a leading enterprise in agricultural industrialization, Zhongyi Seed Industry signed a cooperation agreement with Vietnam River Seed Industry. They will cooperate in depth on the transformation, application, and promotion of scientific and technological innovation achievements in the seed industry.

The cooperation with the Vietnamese River Seed Industry can give full play to respective advantages, cultivating several breakthrough high-quality varieties and better promoting the high-quality development of the seed industry.
